Irish Coffee

January 25, 2011

“One of the very best Irish traditions”

Irish Coffee

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. Strong Coffee
  • 1 1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey
  • 1 t. Sugar
  • Heavy Cream

  Preparation

  1. Warm a medium-sized wine glass (or irish coffee glass) with hot water
  2. Pour out the water and put the sugar and whiskey into the glass
  3. Add the coffee and stir well
  4. Pour the softly whipped cream out of a pitcher over the back of a spoon on the top of the coffee

The cream should float on top of the coffee and do not attempt to stir.  The hot whiskey flavored coffee is drunk through the cold cream.
