Merry Christmas


A Special Cake for Christmas Day


White Chocolate Cake


  • 3/4 C. Whole Milk
  • 6 T. Unsalted Butter (cut in 6 pieces)
  • 6 oz. White Chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 C. All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 T. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 t. Salt
  • 3 Lg. Eggs
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 t. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 t Orange or Lemon Zest (optional)

(One 10″ Round Cake or One 9″Square Cake)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; butter bottom and sides of cake pan;line bottom with parchment paper and butter the paper
  2. Heat the milk, butter, and white chcolate over low heat in a medium saucepan while stirring constantly until butter and white chocolate are melted and mixture is smooth; set aside
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a edium bowl and set aside
  4. In a large bow use an electric mixer on medium to beat the eggs and sugar until thickened (about 3 min.)
  5. Mix in the vanilla and zest (if using); on low speed mix in the flour mixture until well incorporated; slowly add the hot milk mixture and continue to mix until batter is smooth
  6. Pour into prepared pan and bake until top feels firm (insert toothpick in center and it will come out clean) approx. 40 minutes; cool on a wire rack
  7. Place cake on serving plate while removing the parchment paper carefully

White Chocolate Buttercream 


  • 1/2 lb. Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 12 oz. White Chocolate (melted)
  • 1 C. Confectioners’ Sugar
  • 1t. Pure Vanilla Extract


  1. In a large bowl bet the butter at medium until creamy with a handheld mixer
  2. Beat in the melted white chocolate
  3. Add confectioners’ sugar and vanilla; beat at low speed until light and fluffy
