Whole Sauteed Mushrooms

It’s #MushroomMonday and sometimes we forget how delicious the simple things can be.  I for one generally have mushrooms in my house as they go with everything as well as enhancing some old favorites.  If unexpected guests show up for dinner this is a great dish to add if you need to stretch the original meal plan.  But they are always a favorite when a fabulous steak dinner is on the menu too.  Add some roasted parmesan tomatoes too.

Whole Sauteed Mushrooms


  • 1 lb. Button Mushrooms (or any other selection)
  • 2 T. Unsalted Butter
  • 1 T. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Handful of Fresh Chives (snipped)
  • Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper


  1. Clean mushrooms and set aside
  2. Heat the butter and oil over low heat; add the mushrooms and sauté for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally
  3. Add the fresh chives, salt and pepper to taste
  4. Serve immediately in a warmed shallow bowl

Serves 4-6 (for a side dish)
