French Fries

July 23, 2012

Sometimes just ‘French Fries’ are enough for a meal, well I mean many times.  Once you make your own you will not be buying them outside of your own kitchen.  Quite easy with a few steps, but so, so worth it.  Let me be clear, you need to plan (only an extra hour) as you “must” fry them twice.  No, there is no discussion.

French Fries

  • 4 Large Potatoes (1 Potato per person)
  • 1/2 C. Canola Oil (more if needed)
  • 4 0z. Unsalted Butter (more if needed)
  • Salt and Pepper

  1. Wash, peel and cut potatoes
  2. Heat oil and butter in frying pan
  3. Add potatoes and fry on all sides partially/remove and drain on paper towesl; set aside until ready to serve
  4. Heat oil mixture again (add more oil and butter if needed); add potatoes and fry on all sides til golden brown
  5. Remove to plate covered with paper towels and season with salt and pepper; serve immediately

Serves 4 (1 Lg. Potato per person)

No recipe really/just instructions from Louis Pierre Sancelot
