Barbecue Chicken Thighs and Legs

Any night will do for some barbecue.  Here is a quick no-fuss dinner served with a great salad whether eaten in the garden or at the dining room table.  Make your own sauce the night before to save some time or pick up your favorite at your local grocer, but making your own is the way to go.

Barbeqcue Chicken Thighs and Legs


  • 2 lbs. Chicken Thighs and Legs

Ingredients (Barbecue Sauce) *

  • 1 C. Ketchup
  • 1/2 C. Water
  • 3 T. Honey
  • 2 T. Sugar
  • 1 Clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 T. Onion Powder
  • 1/2 T. Dry Mustard
  • 1 T. Lemon Juice
  • 2 t. Worcestershire Sauce

* Taste test as you mix ingredients to make it your own special blend

Preparation (Barbecue Sauce)

  1. Put all ingredients in a saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil and then put on simmer
  3. Let simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for about an hour


  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees
  2. Place chicken in a baking dish and cover with the barbecue sauce
  3. Cook for about 1 hour, basting a couple of times
  4. Turn up oven to 350 degrees and cook and additional 20-30 minutes
  5. Remove from oven and serve (served here with rice)
