Pineapple Love

Pineapple Love

I expect a lot from a pineapple (probably more than most people) that I buy at the local grocer and so should you.  I find them expensive when paying $4.00 (or more) for one piece of fruit so I generally make sure every piece is enjoyed including the leaves.  Well, I don’t eat the leaves but I do plant them.  Do not think this is a quick process as it is not (approximately a little more than a year for one small pineapple) and unless you have acres of land you will only be eating your own pineapple a few days of the year.  But they look lovely in the garden in all seasons here in South Florida, make great large potted plants on your patio and free, very pretty indoor houseplants (never had fruit from an indoor plant). You can see the easy life of a pineapple below the recipe section.

Pineapple grown from the local grocer’s market.  I do not know how many days that it will be on a plate.

From the market and later to the garden.

The pineapple is one of the best stars of a centerpiece for your table.  All fruits and flowers from my home garden (these things make me satisfied and happy).
