Lemon Lime Ice Cream

May 3, 2011

Wow, this is for the lemon-lime kind of gals and guys.  Because this is real “pucker” power in all good ways.  A delight on a hot summer night or after a beautiful dinner when a fresh, cold dessert should be on your menu.

 Lemon Lime Ice Cream

  • 4 Lemons (Zest and 1/2 C. Juice)
  • 4 Limes (Zest and 1/2 C. Juice) *
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 C. Half & Half (or Cream)

* (I used 6 limes as they were very small for 1/2 C. Juice)

  1. Zest the lemons and lime and combine in a food processor with the sugar; process until sugar is consistency of wet sand
  2. Add the juice to the sugar and process until smooth
  3. Add the salt and Half & Half and stir to combine
  4. Pour into ice cream maker and process according to manufacturer’s directions
  5. Serve in chilled cups and garnish with some lime

(Yield: approx. 1 Qt.)

Thank you for visiting. Wish I could get better at photos for ice cream (90 degrees here today in FL) but it is so, so, good.
