Pecan Pie

January 18, 2011

One of the simplest pies to make, ever.  I have made many different recipes for Pecan Pie but always go back to the first one I made straight from the bottle of “Karo Syrup” when it is just all about pecans.  I have found through the years many product recipes are the standard as their testing kitchens have done all the work for you.

Pecan Pie

  • 1 9″ Pie Crust (unbaked or frozen)
  • 1 C. Karo Light or Dark Corn Syrup (Light used in this recipe)
  • 3 Lg. Eggs
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 2 T. Butter (melted)
  • 1 t. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 C. Pecans

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla together with a spoon; stir in the pecans; pour into pie shell
  3. Bake for 60-70 minutes; cool for 2 hours on a wire rack before serving
  4. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream

(Serves 6-8)
