Florida Citrus Soup

    A great way to start the day.  Make it the night before so it is nice and cold.  Add some vodka for a weekend brunch and enjoy the goodness of Florida.  Any and all combinations are truly wonderful.

Florida Citrus Soup


  • 2 Grapefruit
  • 4 Oranges
  • 4 Tangerines
  • 1/2 Pineapple
  • 2 C. Fruit Juice (Apple, Strawberry, Banana, Mango [no citrus])
  • 8 Maraschino Cherries
  • 2 T. Maraschino Cherry Juice
  • 2 T. Sugar (Optional)


  1. Cut grapefruits in half and cut  sections; squeeze grapefruit to reserve juice and remove sections; place in a large bowl (bowl should have cover)
  2. Cut oranges in half and cut sections; squeeze oranges to reserve juice and remove; add sections and juice to bowl
  3. Cut tangerines in half and squeeze; add juice and sections to bowl
  4. Peel and core pineapple; finely chop and mash pineapple with the juices and add to bowl
  5. Add the 2 cups of your selected juice, maraschino cherries and juice; cover and chill thoroughly
  6. Serve in a chilled glass bowl or margarita glass with a spoon
