Red Leaf Lettuce, Pear and Walnut Salad

A  lovely, delicate salad with combined flavors of the walnut oil in the salad dressing.  Possibly add a sprinkling of bleu cheese or goat cheese if you are in the mood.

Red Leaf Lettuce, Pear and Walnut Salad


  • 4 C. Red Leaf Lettuce
  • 2 Pears (peeled, cored and diced-about 3/4″)
  • 1/2 C. Walnuts (roughly chopped and toasted)


  1. Arrange lettuce and pears on a chilled plated
  2. Sprinkle the walnuts over salad
  3. Drizzle the walnut vinaigrette on the salad


Walnut Vinaigrette

Ingredients and Preparation

  • 3 T. Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 t. Dijon Mustard
  • 3/4 C. Walnut Oil
  • Salt
  • Freshly Ground Pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk thoroughly, taste for seasoning correction

(Serves 4)
