Five Cent Cookies

November 6, 2010

A nice twist to a typical sugar cookie.  Sold at market places in Dakar they are a welcome addition to any home.  Children and adults love them anytime of the day.  I made the sugar cookies shown here but go to your local bakery and buy some for a quick fix with just adding the peanut butter and chopped nuts.

Five Cent Cookies

  • 12 3″ Sugar Cookies (prepared or bought) (Recipe for New England Sugar Cookies *)
  • 3-4 oz.  Peanuts (Natural or Salted; chopped)
  • Approximately 1/2 C. Peanut Butter

  1. Prepare or buy large sugar cookies
  2. If made, cool thoroughly; spread each cookie with peanut butter
  3. Chop the peanuts and add on top of the peanut butter

(Serves 12, 1 per person)
