Peanut Butter Blossoms

I hear Santa wants these cookies, but I make them all year.  Happy Holidays…….

It would be nice to share these cookies with my beautiful children.

Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients

• 1/2 C. Shortening
• 3/4 C. Peanut Butter
• 1/3 C. Sugar
• 1/3 C. Light Brown Sugar (packed)
• 1 Lg. Egg
• 2 T. Whole Milk
• 1 t. Pure Vanilla Extract
• 1 1/2 C. All purpose Flour
• 1 t. Baking Soda
• 1/2 t. Salt

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees/remove wrappers from the chocolate kisses
2. Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl until well combined; add 1/3 C. sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy
3. Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well
4. Stir the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the peanut butter mixture and combine
5. Shape the dough into 1″ balls and roll in the granulated sugar; place on cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes (lightly browned)
6. Immediately press a chocolate into the center of each cookie; remove cookies and place on a wire rack; cool completely
